Meeting the Challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorders
A Community Conference for Family Members, Professionals and Advocates
Supporting the needs of individuals on the autism spectrum often places significant demands on families and the helping professionals called upon for assistance, intervention and education. This unique educational forum will offer valuable insights and practical approaches for addressing the challenges of autism spectrum disorders. Information from both personal and professional perspectives will enhance participants’ understanding of the impact of these challenges on individuals and families, and the supports and interventions that can make a difference in their lives.
Prominent autism expert, author and international speaker, Stephen Shore, EdD is renowned for his knowledge of effective, easy-to-implement strategies, and unique ability to interweave insights from his own personal experience as an individual on the spectrum with those gained as a professional educator. Priscilla Gilman, PhD, celebrated author and speaker, and mother of a child on the autism spectrum, provides audiences with a window into her own parenting journey, sharing the hard-earned lessons she has learned facing the unexpected and often difficult challenges of raising a child with special needs.
